As many of the high school students out there know, school can be difficult at times. Perseverance and determination are a students best friends during these times of disaster. Here are five of the hardest aspects of high school based on my opinion.

1. Time Management

Many times during my two years in high school I have caught myself wasting time on entertainments hubs such as YouTube and Netflix. These are killers, as I get off track with my homework and it takes me longer to complete it.

2. Workload

The transition from middle school into high school is devastating. The workload becomes humongous in high school, as classes get harder and more advanced. An average honors and AP course require 1-3 hours of time each night.

3. Peer Pressure

I am not talking about just drugs when it comes to peer pressure. Peer pressure includes all the things other people influence you to do. In high school every student encounters this and may do something they are uncomfortable with; that's why its best to be yourself and not follow other people.

4. Maintaining Grades

Along with the work load, maintaining a good GPA is extremely stressful. Tests and quizzes become more difficult and nearly impossible. Many students fail to cope up with their grades, and are therefore left behind by their peers.

5. Staying Strong

Finally, the toughest part of high school is staying strong and determined through all the stress and anxiety filled experiences. If a students can do this, there is nothing stopping them from a bright high school career.

However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
