More attention is focused on celebrities.
Why is it that certain people get more attention than others? I never understood that at all, I mean I thought we were technically all the same. Yeah, there might be a couple of differences, but at the end of the day, we are all humans. You know we have a brain that thinks, a heart that beats, arms and legs that move, what else can you consider “different?” Oh, besides your ethnicity, you might believe that because someone is really known, then they are totally different, right? Well, yes, they are because their lifestyle is not like ours, but that’s really it. But see, here is the thing that really bothers me, why do well-known people like celebrities get more spotlight when something happens? Because really, at the end, everyone goes through or has gone through the same thing. Hmmm...let’s break all this down.
Celebrities are known to be famous, whether it is by singing, dancing, acting, etc... It is amazing how they share their talent with the world and how they communicate with their fans with the talent they have. I mean I know a lot of us wanted to be that famous at one point or even still do. Did you ever think what kind of benefits they might have because of their fame? I don’t think everyone sees the truth in this and how this type of attention can change the way someone might see certain things in the world. So here is probably the part where you don’t understand me, and just got pretty confused. All these famous people get more fans and spotlight when something either good or bad happens to them. It seems as if their story is getting more views and supporters than any other story. How would you put that?
We all recently heard the tragic death of the Linkin Park singer, Chester Bennington. His cause of death was a suicide and yes, it was sad and shocking. The problem is that people like him get more recognition. For some, he was a legend, and don’t get me wrong, I actually loved that band, but seeing how much tweets and shares he gets for days because of his death is kind of crazy. You do understand that there are a lot of people who commit suicide everyday. As a matter of fact, there are a lot of people that go through the good and the bad. So why do people get the urge to tweet and share about someone when they are more famous? Have you ever wondered that, like why that occurs? Or even why that whole news of Beyoncé having twins is trending for months?
There's nothing wrong talking about it on TV or social media, but talking about it for days, weeks, or months is the issue. I’ve heard many people say things like, “Okay that is happening or it happened, what am I supposed to do, stop it?” Okay, well it is the same thing for famous people, for them it happened, you can’t stop it but you are still tweeting about them. So why not at least tweet about people that are not famous? Like us. Every day something is happening and people don’t mention it or pay attention but rather tweet and listen to their favorite rapper, singer, or actor. This can actually be a debatable issue, with that said, how would you interpret the attention that celebrities get?
