Client Consultation & Haircut with Zak Mascolo

Welcome to the first (and probably last) edition of BCU Celebrity Hair Watch! Today we are going to discuss the shocking cut of none other than our very own Nick Harris. Also known by the name of Wolfgang Oakenshield. I didn't want to believe it, nay, I couldn't believe the snap I received from his beautiful girlfriend. It was a snap of our friend sporting his brand new 'do! How could our king do this to us? How is he supposed to fight dragons and take the mountain back from evil-doers when his hair isn't as long as our dwarf friends?

(Nick's Teaser Pic)

He can't, or at least that's what I thought. New studies show that having shorter hair could be the upper hand while fighting Orcs and bandits. Science says that they can't pull on your luscious locks, which might mean life or death in some situations! I mean, as beautiful as the elves are you can't help to admit that you could probably knock them down by accidentally stepping on their hair. Having shorter hair also means that people can't get their weapons wrapped around it or shoot spit balls into it where they could colonize and make a paper head out of you.

For example. BAM! It's a week from now and your village is under attack. You're feeling pretty good about yourself and your hair looks great. You conditioned it the night before (It may or may not have taken a full bottle to cover all of your hair though. I don't know) and you're fighting alongside your short haired friends when all of a sudden... BAM! An orc grabs your hair while he's falling off of a cliff to try and get back on his feet. But he doesn't and he takes you with him. You fall to your miserably and embarrassing death all because you didn't listen to your girlfriend when she said you needed a trim. If you were sporting a cool short haircut like Nick this all could have been avoided and you would have been triumphant.

I think that this could be the year for realizing that your hair might be a little longer than it should be. At least when it comes to going into battle with your friends and not wanting to die. It's your choice, of course, but I bet it wouldn't hurt to at least get a trim.

I've spoken first hand with our BCU celeb and have gotten a short statement about his cut. Our friend, Nick Harris, has said, "I say that if I had cut the beard too I would have been in a week long depression. But I'm sure I'll get used to it!"

(Emily's exclusive snap! We love it, Nick!)

There you have it folks. Our mermaid man still has his strong beard and is looking great. Don't worry friend. By the time your hair grows back you would have made it "In" again. The real question now is, how long will that take and should we cut our hair too? It sort of makes you want to! Don't deny it!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. Nobody deserves to be living in poverty.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.

For many undergraduates across the nation, the home stretch has begun. Only one more semester remains in our undergraduate career. Oh, the places we will go! For the majority of college seniors, this is simultaneously the best and worst year out of the past four and here’s why.

1. The classes you are taking are actually difficult.

A schedule full of easy pottery throwing and film courses is merely a myth on the average campus. With all of those prerequisites for the upper-level courses and the never-ending battle you fight each year during registration for limited class seats, senior year brings with it the ability to register for the final courses you need to fulfill your major. Yet, these are not the easy entry level courses. These are the comprehensive, end of major, capstone courses designed to apply the knowledge from all your previous courses, usually in the form of an extensive research paper or engaged learning project. The upside is you actually probably really enjoy these classes but alas there is no room for slackers here.
