Everyday it seems as though a new couple forms as another falls apart. It's hard to tell what's real and what's fake when it comes to celebrities and their relationships. Are Kim and Kanye really in love? Did Miley and Liam ever really break up? Why do Kylie and Tyga insist on breaking up and getting back together over and over again? They say love is a battlefield, but in Hollywood it's so much more than that. Here are just a few reasons why celebrity dating is ridiculous, complete with examples.
One thing that I've always noticed with celebrity couples is that their timing is always strategically planned. Is it really a coincidence that Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik just so happened to get together while Zayn launched his solo career and Gigi reached the peak of her modeling career? Probably not. I'm sure his people contacted hers and set them up so that they could become one of Hollywood's latest "It" couples.
Another couple that shocked the Internet and One Direction fans everywhere was Harry Styles and Kendall Jenner. Rumors came about that the two were seeing each other in early 2015. However, the romance was publically revealed on New Years Day when private vacation photos from Harry Style's mom's phone "leaked" to Twitter. This just so happened to be the same day that Taylor Swift released her "Out Of The Woods" music video, which was about her and Harry's notorious relationship. Coincidence? I seriously doubt it.
Celebrity couples always seem to have perfectly staged photos. It's no secret that huge celebrities have control over what goes out to the public and social media outlets. Even events that look authentic and real are most likely set up and planned by the celebrity's team. Some couples that I feel are the most guilty of staging their photos are Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, and Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Think about it. When was the last time you saw a "bad" picture of any of these couples. You'll never catch them looking their worst or in a fight with one another because these celebs have strategically planned when they're photographed. They know exactly when to time their arrivals at certain places because they've already made plans with the paparazzi. This makes celebrity couples feel a bit fake, doesn't it?
Not to mention the fact that so many of these so-called relationships are quite controversial. It seems outrageous how some of these people meet let alone think it's a good idea to date each other. One couple that comes to mind is Blac Chyna and Robert Kardashian. Isn't it a little weird that Robert's little sister, Kylie Jenner is dating Tyga, who has a child with Blac Chyna. I know the Kardashians are all about family, but that's just a little too close for comfort. Doesn't it make you wonder if someone set them up in order to cause controversy in the media?
Most of these relationships end in cheating, lying, or violence. Unfortunately, being unfaithful seems to come with the territory in Hollywood. Cheating isn't out of the ordinary when there's plenty of other famous and beautiful people to choose from. Even the most amazing relationships can fall victim to this kind of deceit. Beyonce just released an entire album about Jay-Z and his cheating habits. Yet she stays. This definitely has me questioning whether or not he even cheated, or if this is a way to keep their name in the media. Someone who is such a strong supporter for women's rights and independence surely doesn't need a man who cheats in her life. Especially Beyonce!
Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian are an example of another couple that just couldn't escape the Hollywood drama. Scott was reportedly cheating on Kourtney throughout some parts of their relationship while he was clubbing and abusing alcohol. Luckily, Kourtney noticed that this wasn't the man she first fell in love with and left him hanging. However, if you've ever watched "Keeping Up With The Kardashians", you'd see how incredibly ignorant Scott was to Kourtney and her family. Much of this was probably fake for the show, but it just goes to show how much of their relationship was planned and manipulated in order to please their many viewers.
Everyone's favorite "Twilight" couple Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart ended their relationship because Kristen decided to cheat with Rupert Sanders, who she was working on a movie with at the time. Kristen and Rupert's cheating pictures look incredibly staged to me. I mean c'mon, she looked at the camera! She had to know someone was watching, so why did she continue to hug and kiss him knowing she was still in a relationship with Robert? Robert's response to the pictures was shocking as well. He stated, "Shit happens," just days after their split had been announced. Maybe they planned it. Maybe he knew the whole time. Either way, it's clear to see that celebrity dating is fake and a lot of times the relationship isn't all that it's portrayed to be in the media.
And no matter how many times they insist they've broken up and moved on, somehow some celebrities are always connected to one person. Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were known for their on again off again relationship. The media adored the couple and asked each other about the other person in just about every interview they had. Even though they've officially broken up for good, the media still can't get enough of the idea of them together. They may always have to address questions about their relationship in interviews.
Another couple that comes to mind is Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt. Although the two were divorced in 2005 and Brad has since found love and happiness with Angelina Jolie, the media still speculates about their relationship. I've seen countless magazine covers stating that Jennifer still isn't over Brad even though their relationship ended over fifteen years ago. Not to mention that she's been seen with other men since the two ended their marriage. There have also been articles and fan pages dedicated to their relationship, which features old pictures of them and "what could have been" stories if their relationship had worked out. It just goes to show how obsessed the media is with celebrity dating, which can make it hard for couples to deal with their issues privately.
Who could forget one of the hottest celebrity couples of all time? My favorite celebrity couple has to be Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. It's been years since the two have even spoken to one another, yet their names are constantly thrown together in radio shows anytime there's a throwback to the 90's. They both had to endure questions upon questions during their interviews about one another back when they first broke up. This can make it hard for couples to truly get a clean break from a relationship. This was extremely difficult for them because they were each other's first love. The media stalked them every chance they got, which probably contributed to how messy their breakup was. When you're the two hottest celebs, nowhere is safe or private.
Another well-known fact about celebrity dating is that most of the relationships never seem to last very long. The relationships are always over advertised, but they never seem to make it past the year mark. Some couples that come to mind are Ariana Grande and Big Sean, who were always talked about in the media even though their relationship only lasted for eight months. I guess they needed to get as much attention from the relationship as possible.
And how could we forget the short-lived marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries. Although they dated for a good amount of time, their marriage only lasted a whopping 72 hours. They both claimed to be so in love, yet couldn't last a full week together as a married couple. Maybe once the hype is over about a celebrity couple, it's not really worth it to stay in the relationship.
As you can see, there's a lot of planning that goes into a celebrity relationship. The right people are contacted in order to create some of the hot celebrity couples that we've come to know and love. Despite all of the drama and fake perceptions that surround celebrity dating, there are still a few couples that I'm rooting for to last a lifetime and overcome Hollywood's obstacles.
