Celebrating Your 21st Birthday In Style

The time has finally come. Ever since you turned 18, you have been dreaming of this day. Of the day you finally turn 21 and get to join the world of legally intoxicated adults.Gone are the days of getting denied entry from clubs and ushered out from liquor stores. No more shall you have to stand a safe distance away from your friend in the grocery store when they choose to buy a bottle of wine.

Today is your 21st birthday, and it's time to celebrate in style.

Step 1: Choose your destination wisely

Planning a weekend getaway? Try renting out an Airbnb for a few nights in a fun destination.Wanting a calmer night in? Try hosting a more casual kickback at you abode. Go somewhere that suits you wants and party style and never feel pressured to go out on the town if you'd rather stay in with friends!

Step 2: Gather up the homies

No birthday celebration is complete without out your #squad. Whether you want people there to take care of you in your drunken state, bust a move on the dance floor, or get WaHo with in the morning, a good group of friends is essential for a proper celebration.

Step 3: Make sure everyone knows it's your 21st

Proudly show your ID to the general public or wear a gaudy, glitter-filled sign if that suits your fancy. Who knows, you might get a free dessert shot out of it.

Step 4: Order your first legal drink

*Note* This drink will most likely set the tone for the rest of the night. Calm night in? Try your favorite IPA. Night on the town? Go ahead and order that whiskey sour. Think "If I was an alcoholic beverage what would I be?". Personally, I'd be a tequila sunrise.

Step 5: Proceed with caution

How you choose to spend your 21st is completely up to you. If the celebration stops after that first drink, that's perfectly acceptable. If quite a few drinks follow in succession, hooray for you. Just make sure that you are safe and in good hands throughout your special day.

Step 6: Take a shot of tequila

Because tequila doesn't judge. Tequila understands.

Step 7: Get tucked into bed

Water on the bedside table? Check. Advil on hand? Double-check. Trust me when I say hungover you isn't going to want to wake up on the floor.

Step 8: Indulge in some dope Brunch

I have yet to meet a hangover that brunch could not fix. And if you want bottomless mimosa with that, guess what? You can now order them to your hearts content.

Happy 21st Birthday!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
