The holidays are both the best and the most hectic time of the year, especially when your parents are divorced. Spending time with family can be crazy enough, but trying to split up your time between sides of the family can sometimes make it feel like you do not even have a chance to breathe. If your parents are divorced, you can probably relate to these holiday moments.
1. Having to do double the normal amount of Christmas shopping.
This is definitely the case if one or both of your parents are remarried. You want to make sure you get everyone a good gift, and the pressure is definitely on.
2. Getting double the amount of food.
Holiday food is the best. Grandma's cooking? TWICE? Heck yeah.
3. "Are you with your mom or your dad this year?"
We do our best to make it work so that we can see everyone during the holidays. But there are only so many hours within a day and sometimes you just have to alternate every other year.
4. Getting the same present twice but not wanting to ruin the moment.
Yes, I love it. No, I am not mentioning that I already got this. Some things are just better left unsaid.
5. "You get double the amount of presents, you're so lucky to have divorced parents!"
I think we have different ideas of what "lucky" means. But I mean, I definitely can't complain about the amount of presents.
