Miscellaneous Facts About St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is a day in which people celebrate the patron saint of Ireland. St. Patrick was a British Roman born in the late fourth century. He was made a slave at the age of 16 when he was kidnapped. He later escaped and returned home with over 400 to convert the Irish to Christianity. People wear green attire and accessories as well as shamrocks (a three-leaved plant) on this holiday. This is because St. Patrick was said to have used a shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity to the pagan Irish. This national holiday has been celebrated for many years all across the world.
