I know the majority of people dislike stores and people celebrating holidays before a given time but I disagree. I know many think you can't celebrate Christmas until after Halloween but really who cares? It currently is October 30th and here I am watching VH1 which is showing the movie Elf. Is it a Christmas movie? Sure, but it is also just a good feel-good film to watch at any time.
At the same time, Christmas music can be listened to year-round. Take the Barenaked Ladies version of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, it is upbeat and while you are listening to it you forget it is actually a Christmas song. Same with any Pentatonix cover of a Christmas song! What they do with the rhythms and melodies make you forget it is a Christmas song.
The same goes for any other holiday. If you want to celebrate Halloween by dressing up for all of October go ahead, if you want to celebrate your relationship why does that have to only be on a single day. You can celebrate any holiday at any time if you would like. Who is to tell you any different?
Holidays come with many good memories associtated with them so who is to deny you the happiness you get from celebrating. Sure the majority of people may not understand but if it makes you feel good and helps your own type of self-care or just a simple release then go ahead and celebrate!
You can go trick-or-treat in the heat or celebrate Christmas in July, we even celebrate our half-birthdays. Any holiday can be celebrated whenever as long as you want to celebrate it. Holdiays are here for a reason, which is to bring happiness and people together to celebrate something.
