With its upcoming season opening in May, it’s time now to start deciding how you want to spend your time at the REAL capital of Ohio, Cedar Point. For those of you who haven’t been and for those of you that have, here’s how you should be spending your time this year.

17. Pipe Scream

Line: Short

Fun: Not much

Intensity: Non-existent

Let’s just all admit that this is a glorified carnival ride and keep this out of the itinerary for a worthwhile day at Cedar Point.

16. Wilderness Run

Line: Short

Fun: Eh

Intensity: Low

This is one of those roller coasters that are REALLY intense when you’re 8 years olf but slowly starts to lose its luster over the years. If you’re going with kids, go for it, but otherwise, skip it.

15. Corkscrew

Line: Usually not bad

Fun: Not bad

Intensity: High

This rollercoaster is intense as the day is long and always leaves me with a headache. If you’re strong enough to handle the consistent upside downs, go for it, but if you aren’t strong enough, pass on this one.

14. Wicked Twister

Line: Pretty short

Fun: Pretty fun

Intensity: Decent

This is a fun ride by the beach that usually isn’t too long of a wait. It takes you forward and backward with a few twists along the way. It doesn’t really ever count as a must-do for me, but if you’re in the area and it’s basically walk-on, go for it.

13. Iron Dragon

Line: Short

Fun: Pretty fun

Intensity: Low

This ride is more about the view than the thrill. It takes you through a wooded area and over the water and is a really chill ride. It’s another ride that really isn’t a priority ride, but if there’s no line, check it out.

12. Woodstock Express

Line: Short

Fun: Surprisingly fun

Intensity: Low

I know this is a kid’s roller coaster, but of them all, this one is by far the most enjoyable. Usually, this one is a walk-on and it’s really fun to ride it like 6 times in a row and enjoy the children’s thrill ride. Not a priority, but a fun experience nevertheless.

11. Cedar Creek Mine Ride

Line: Decent on a busy day

Fun: Good time

Intensity: Moderate

Like the Woodstock Express, this one is meant for younger people but is still an enjoyable time. Not a priority, but a fun time anyway.

10. Rougarou

Line: Moderate

Fun: Pretty good time

Intensity: Above moderate

This ride, although loud for no reason, is a pretty good time. It’s not worth waiting in extraordinarily long lines for, but it’s definitely one to add to your list.

9. Gemini

Line: Not awful

Fun: Good time

Intensity: Low

This ride is a classic and a pretty good time. It’s one of the last few wooden roller coasters so if it’s even raining a lick, this is a no-go. However, the whole ride you’re racing with another train and it’s an all-around good time. It’s not worth waiting in lonnnnnnnng lines for, but it’s still a pretty good time.

8. Blue Streak

Line: Short

Fun: Pretty fun

Intensity: Low

Another classic, the Blue Streak has always been a favorite of mine. The seatbelts aren’t too constraining so you can wiggle around a bit and really get into the hills. This is a really good time.

7. Gatekeeper

Line: Moderate

Fun: Good amount

Intensity: Low

This is probably the most overrated roller coaster of all time. I remember when it first opened and they were advertising the keyholes that you “barely fit through.” When I got on it, I remember waiting forever to have an adequate time. It was fun, but by no means was worth the wait. Get on this one only if the line is SHORT.

6. Magnum XL-200

Line: Usually not bad

Fun: Lots

Intensity: Moderate

This is a really fun roller coaster. It goes pretty fast and has some good drops. This is even more fun when it’s a walk-on (which it tends to be by the end of the night). Ride this several times in a row, but not if you have to wait.

5. Raptor

Line: Moderate

Fun: Lots, especially at night

Intensity: Moderate

This is my favorite roller coaster to ride at night. It’s a quick line and a pretty good roller coaster. I’ve never had a bad experience on it.

4. Valravn

Line: Long

Fun: Pretty dang fun

Intensity: Pretty high

This ride is still fairly new so the lines will be long, but it’s worth checking out for sure. It has a really intense drop and a couple fake stops and this ride consistently keeps you on your toes. It’ll be more fun when the lines die down, but check it out if you can.

3. Maverick

Line: Literally the worst in the park

Fun: Buckets

Intensity: High

This ride would be my #1 if not for the lines. The lines are literally almost always 2+ hours. If you can catch this one with lines at 1.5hrs or less, IMMEDIATELY get in line. This is almost more of a thrill ride with the way it’s structured and definitely is full of thrills. I love it so much, but almost never get to ride it because of the lines. Check it out if you feel like waiting.

2. Top Thrill Dragster

Line: Outrageous

Fun: Tons

Intensity: Extreme

This is the ride that people come from far and wide to experience. It is truly an experience like no other. The lines are always long and the ride breaks down often. Since the turnaround is so quick, waiting in this line is almost always worth it. This is definitely something that is a must-do at some point in your roller-coaster career.

1. Millenium Force

Line: Long

Fun: The most

Intensity: Pretty Intense

This has been and likely always will be my #1 ride. The big drop at the beginning kicks off a consistently great time throughout. The lines are usually decent sized, but this is a ride worth waiting for every single time. It’s sufficiently terrifying and delightful.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
