Cats Vs Dogs

The war of the century.

Cats Vs Dogs
Shelby Mae Verlinde

Cats and dogs are interesting creatures to say the least. Both are the most common domesticated family pets, yet both are very different.

Dogs were domesticated by man. Cats chose to be domesticated.

Dogs are excited to greet their owners after a long day. Cats pretend their owner never left.

Dogs will still love their owners when they have to move to the floor to make room on the couch. Cats will give the death glare if moved from their spot.

Dogs will join their owners by laying at their feet or sitting next to them. Cats will join their owners by walking right on top of them or standing in front of their face.

Dogs bring their owners toys to throw or play with because they're friends. Cats will bring dead animals because their owner is a terrible hunter and will probably starve to death.

Dogs beg for food with sad eyes. Cats turn into James Bond and attempt to steal their owner's food.

Dogs will accept attention whenever possible. Cats want attention when they want attention -- not before or after.

Dogs don't hide that they're clingy. Cats pretends it's just a coincidence they are in the same room as their owner 96 percent of the time.

Dogs think that their owners are gods. Cats think they are the gods.

The greatest part about dogs versus cats is the people who pick sides.

Dog people: completely repulsed by cats. Hate cats. Cannot believe people can be cat people. Don't understand how people can like cats. Hate cat people.

Cat people: dogs are cool too.

Both animals can be loving family members. All they need is some love in return.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
