Catching Your Breath

When It seems like you have reached the end of the pile but there is a whole other stack.

Lander University I love you but I think you are struggling a bit. This year we went back to school two weeks earlier than usual yet we won't go on our fall break until election day. Logically I understand, it is better to wait until election instead of giving us another day out of school to be behind on assignments. Mentally, however, I need a break!!!! I have no idea why these teachers have decided that all these things are due at once and as usual they tend to forget that their class is not the only class we have that requires extra/outside reading. We got back earlier and yet we have no extra time to achieve these projects or even reach these due dates.

I have reached that point in the semester where if I'm breathing I feel like I am wasting time that I could be using for finishing this never ending pile of school work. The shorter classroom hours only give us a smaller amount of time to cover all their material and to take their test. How is it that a change that seemed so small can induce so much stress?! I don't think I have missed the days of extra credit, germ-x and tissue more than I do right now. Actually I miss the days of when coloring inside the lines was counted as doing well and they gave you good job encouragement stickers or treated you like you just solved world hunger.

Can't we all just love each other and give A's for showing up?! Let's face it staff, you are ready for a break from us just as much as we are ready for this break from your assignments so lets call even and just go on a mini vacation. Heck I'll even settle for a stay-cation since we're all just broke college students!

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
