When You Want A Cat But You're A Dog Owner

Sure owning a dog is cool, but imagine if you had a cat instead.

Being a dog owner is great and all, but you will never truly be satisfied until you own your very own cat. People will say you're crazy, but you know that they're actually the crazy ones. Sadly, you may never own a feline of your own until you have got your own "big boy/girl" job and you can only help but struggle with the feeling of emptiness without a cat in your life.

You make your friends jealous with your dog. But you just want a cat.

Sure- your pet dog is extremely adorable and you like the attention you get by making your friends jealous of you being it's owner but, in the end, it's just a dog and everyone has one. Why feel the need to be jealous? They just bark, eat and go to the bathroom. If you owned a cat, then that jealousy would be completely understandable simply because cats are much cuter than dogs.

Your dog is boring. Imagine how exciting life would be with a cat.

After owning a dog for a while, you can't help but start to feel bored with it. You've taught your dog all the tricks it can learn but it's still not enough. Every day is a never ending cycle of feeding, walking, playing and pooping. If only you owned a cat. Then you could make it do things a dog could only wish of doing such as playing ping-pong or the piano (shout out to Keyboard Cat.)

Every time you see a cat video, you're only reminded of the emptiness in your life without a cat

Each time you log onto Facebook, you find yourself scrolling through a swarm of cat videos. They're all so interesting and funny because cats do the silliest things. They are truly creatures of majestic beauty. Never mind the videos of dogs because you've already seen everything a dog can do and you've gotten used to seeing dogs now. A cat is what your heart truly desires and these cat videos only make you want them even more. A dog simply is not enough.

In the end, you still do love your dog very much. I mean, how can you not? They are lovable animals as well. The simple truth is that cats will always be better in your mind and no matter what your friends say about how stupid you are for thinking this, you know that it is true. Cats are life and even though you don't own one, you know you will be a much happier person if you did.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
