My Cat Is My Child

Fur children are still children.

Being in a long-term relationship, I’m often asked when I’m going to settle down, tie the knot, and have little Brittneys.

As exciting as late nights with a screaming child, spending all my money on diapers that I’m literally throwing away, and having every type of body fluid covered on me everyday sounds, I’m just not thinking about that life yet.

Truth be told, I already have a wonderful child. My adorable kitten Luna.

Now, I’m sure that many people will tell me that a pet is nothing like a human child. But to me, someone who is childless and has only had to take care of myself my whole life, Luna is practically my little baby.

I have to buy her food, make sure she has litter (similar to diapers), and when she’s sick I have to take her to the hospital (and dish out a lot more dough).

When planning my upcoming Vegas vacation, I had to plan what I was going to do with Luna (shout out to my mom for watching her for a week). She may not need as much supervision as a baby, but someone’s got to keep her fed while we’re away.

Most importantly, my kitten shows me so much affection. Every night she sleeps by my feet, when I come home she greets me with head bumps and cuddles, and playing with me is the highlight of her day!

So, in conclusion, my fur child is just that, my child! I love taking care of her and love her like she came from my own womb. And one day when someone actually does come out of my womb, Luna will still be my first born.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

Every kid in college and/or high school dreams of summer the moment they walk through the door on the first day back in September. It becomes harder and harder to focus in classes and while doing assignments as the days get closer. The winter has been lagging, the days are short and dark, and no one is quite themselves due to lack of energy and sunlight. Let's face it: life is ten times better in the summertime.
