Six Things All Cashiers Hate to Hear

We get it, you think you're funny or clever but really you aren't

Cashiers

Cashiering can be a fun job all while being so horribly awful. Cashier's who deserve the world get treated poorly all the time. And as with every shift and every guest we repeat ourselves over and over again, we also hear things from the guests several times a day that do nothing more than annoy us. So with that in mind here are six things all cashiers hate to hear.

1. "Working hard, or hardly working."

2. "I have all these coupons"

Note: This isn't for any other reason than people not reading the fine print on coupons. (YOU CAN'T USE THE SAME COUPON TWICE IN ONE PURCHASE)

3. *Product doesn't scan* "Oh so it's free right?

No it is not free, and no you aren't clever.

4. "Is there another size of this here?"

Do we look like we would know? We live here by this register for at least four hours a day, why would you ask us when you could ask the softlines employee who can actually tell you?

5. *Carries item throughout the whole store, and reaches the register* "Oh I don't want this."

6. "So do you make the prices?"

Uh no we don't and why would you even think that?

So there are six things all cashiers hate to hear as you come through the registrar lane. So with all that in mind, be kind to your cashiers and please never say them again.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
