Okay, the life of a cashier, any kind of cashier sucks! It is not an easy job even as a part-time employee. It is very frustrating and can be quite tedious. Most people when they enter into a grocery store, clothing store, or any business really don't understand what a cashier has to truly go through in just a matter of only one day.

Within a matter of just a shift a cashier can become annoyed instantly all by a customer's motives. The customer is not always right! I know that in business they technically are in a sense but in actuality they are only right a very short percent of the time on rare instances. Most customers nowadays are always trying to beat the system which can be so irritating because there are rules we as cashiers have to follow otherwise we can be fired!

Now I know we've all been there trying to use our coupons and get a few price reductions off but overdoing it is just insane and cashier's have to deal with it all the time! Here are some following scenarios to help you all as readers deeply understand the aggravation of a cashiers daily workday in the retail industry:

1. When a customer gives you a coupon that is expired and they argue that said coupon is not expired and they demand that the coupon is still valid!

2. When a customer gives you a coupon that is not for that item but they insist that this coupon is for that item but the coupon clearly says it's for a different item.

3. When a customer puts their cash/change on your register or on the counter instead of in your hand! How rude! This circumstance is the worst especially if you work in a grocery store like myself because then their change slides into the conveyor belt.

4. When customers make a mess in the store! They pick up and leave things in odd places and mess up the display which means you have to clean up their mess!

5. When customers decide that they don't want an item when they get to the register, and oh sometimes that said item is the only item they have and they take up said space in your line which pisses off the customers. Pissed off customers equals hell waiting for the unfortunate cashier.

6. When a customer tells you what the item is as your trying to scan the item even though the item is not scanning for whatever reason. Were not dumb we know it's a bagel, a necklace, or a skirt calm down!

7. When a customer gives you like 20 or 50 coupons all at the end of their transaction! Oh my goodness! Please give them to me in the beginning so we can speed up the process for my five other customers!

8. When a customer tries to return something over the expiration date and wants a full refund! Oh my God those are not the rules! Rules are rules live by them and actually do them!

9. When a customer's credit/debit card is not working and they insist that it's your machines fault and not theirs even though their card keeps saying declined. Okay, obviously you don't have perfect credit or didn't pay your bill on time, don't blame us or the cash register for your mistakes.

10. When a customer takes their emotions out on you!!!! Oh my God this is the most thing that gets to us cashiers!! We don't care if you had a bad day don't take it out on us! Don't yell at us, call us names, act rude, and tell us that were stupid because karma will get the best of you!

11. When a customer tries to come in as your closing the store. Sorry but that's not going to work today!

12. When the price is clearly bold-faced and outlined on the product but the customer insists that the sign says it was a different price and they want that said item for cheaper! Holly cannoli this crap happens 24/7 to every cashier! We won't give a price reduction under any circumstances unless the item was in the wrong place which 99.9% of the time it's not!

13. This one applies to grocery cashiers, when a customer puts their purse on the conveyor belt and it starts sliding and they ask you to stop the belt! Super annoying everyone knows not to do that because the belt is always on!

14. When customers flirt with you to try to get their stuff free or just flirt with you in general and their not even cute! It's actually really creepy and we could call security on you at anytime.

15. When a customer says keep the change. We can't actually "keep the change" that old saying is illegal for cashiers because technically we'd be stealing.

16. When customers start fighting with other customers in your line and you have to call the authorities or when customers decide to steal things from the store and you have to call the cops. Yup, happens all the time.

17. When a customer wants you to use their own bags to bag their stuff but only brings three of their bags for a $100 order or more and then get mad at you when try to bag most of their stuff into those said bags. You said you didn't want your items in our store bags so were giving you what you asked for.

18. When customers literally just come into your store asking for change or to break a 50 dollar bill. We are not the Bank of America go across the street!

I'm pretty sure I can think of 50 more things that are very irritating as a cashier but I'm going to end this list right here. If your planning to work with people as your career in the future you might want to be a cashier somewhere at least once.

I know this list looks a little scary but for those of you who want to work with the public in the future this will open your eyes. Your experience as a cashier will set you up for life because it will raise your patience, test your limits, and help you learn how to stand up and be more of a professional.

All of these situations and scenarios are real life examples that all cashiers deal with and they are for the most part handled in a calm fashion for us mainly because that's what cashiers have to do, it's they job to be as professional as possible. So, next time when you see a cashier anywhere make sure you thank them plenty and to not take advantage of them because they are human beings just like you trying to make it in this world.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
