On Saturday, Nov-19th, prominent Youtube Content Creator Casey Neistat uploaded a video announcing that he will stop doing his daily vlogging. Just to give you an idea why this can be considered "huge" is when you consider his subscriber count before doing it. Before vlogging, which was before March 2015, he had around 500,000 subscribers. After 18 months, he racked up 5.8 million subscribers and over 1.1 billion views.

Part of the reasons why he ended up quitting his vlog, as mentioned in the announcement, was to focus on other projects. One of those projects, as revealed on Nov-28, was related to CNN's purchase of Beme.

Beme was a social media app that was founded on the vision of providing a means for users to share quick, short clips of video without edits, as a means of bridging the gap between live streaming and more polished YouTube-style creator production. AS you can tell, they were trying to reach the ever difficult Millenial audience.

While it was actually launched in the summer of 2015 and had early success claims, with half a million downloads and one million videos uploaded within the first few days of being available, things went quiet after its debut. While it never quite found it's footing, it's concept and team (which includes Neistat) was reportedly acquired by CNN for $25,000,000.

While the app will be shutting down on January 31st, 2017, Neistat and the team will be working on a new start-up company that will serve as an extension for CNN. Casey released a video to address this on Wednesday, Nov 30th. I'll release more details as this comes along, In the meantime here's a video he created to address why sold Beme.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
