Carole Baskin is an American Big-Cat rights activist and CEO of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal organization based near Tampa, Florida. Baskin's claim to fame was when she was introduced in the 2020 Netflix series Tiger King as the 'Antagonist' and Drama Queen against Joe Exotic, another American Big-Cat activist.

Carole began to spark controversy when her then husband, Don Lewis, mysteriously disappeared in 1997. In the months leading up to his disappearance, Lewis made several flights to and from Costa Rica, telling friends he was, 'interested in moving there and opening a new zoo,' later disappearing without a trace.

Carole and Don's relationship was rocky from the start. The two married in 1991, but within the following years Lewis attempted to file a restraining order against Baskins as well as a desire to divorce. Friends stated, "Carole and Don met while cheating on their former spouses, so they were known to be unfaithful."

Don Lewis was pronounced legally dead August 19, 2002. The case remains open, and with the sparking interest from the documentary Tiger King, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, as well as a mountain of Twitter detectives, have been piecing the puzzle together on how and why Carole killed Don Lewis.

Probably the most promising piece of evidence the police have is the fact that Don Lewis was a multimillionaire, and if something was to ever happen to him, all of his riches would be inherited by Baskin, who was already struggling with money on her 67-acre Big-Cat sanctuary. A signed will by "Don Lewis" stated that, "..The power of attorney shall not be affected by disability or DISAPPEARANCE." This statement is already suspicious, but new leads in the case prove Carole forged these documents as well as her husband's signatures, as if she already knew he was going to be missing.

Another piece of evidence is that Baskin was never too upset about the disappearance of her then husband, even going as far to joke about how he could've died. In an episode of the documentary, Baskin is heard stating the tigers would eat a body if it was smothered in sardine oil. Not all criminals are good at covering their tracks, Baskin just seems to want to leave a line of breadcrumbs.

Carol Baskin definitely killed her husband. There is far too much proof from not only the case but the outside resources as well.

No charges have been made and the case remains unsolved.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
