Congratulations! You’ve got your own introvert now. Be it a girlfriend, boyfriend, best friend or someone off the street, you should feel honored. For an introvert to choose a person, they must feel very comfortable. Introverts require special care, so here is a list of key tips for taking care of your introvert.
1. Introverts do not like large crowds
If you must take your introvert into a big group, please remember that they are easily overwhelmed by people and prefer to stay on the outer edges of the group
2. Your introvert has chosen you
This means that he/she will likely cling to you and find comfort in having interactions with you. Try not to make your introvert feel like he/she cannot lean on you when he/she is distressed.
3. Introverts are slow to warm up to people
Even though one has chosen you to cling to, please note that introverts require time to open up to a person. Be patient and let your introvert warm up to you in his/her own time.
4. Interactions with people tend to exhaust introverts![]()
After a few hours of socialization, your introvert may want to be alone for a while. This is perfectly OK. Your introvert simply needs a recharge period. Introverts are often considered antisocial or even rude; however, they simply require more energy to socialize than extroverts.
5. Keep in mind that an introvert may not have a very long list of friends
When one chooses you, they will likely not have many, if any, other people to spend time with. Consider this an honor rather than a burden.
Introverts can be some of the sweetest, most loving friends when treated right. However, if treated wrong, exposed to too much socialization or if neglected introverts can retreat further into themselves. To prevent the mistreating of introverts, listen to them and follow these simple tips. I hope this helps you and your introvert to develop a closer relationship.
