Since the beginning of high school every teacher, mentor, and adult has always preached don’t drink alcohol. What they lack to preach is if you drink don’t drive. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “Every two minutes, a person is injured in a drunk driving crash.” This number is shockingly high considering advertisements are frequently shown on television and in magazines stating that it is not alright to be driving drunk or buzzed. These advertisements commonly show fatal accidents and are designed to show the viewer events that can happen when drinking and driving are combined. Many use clever attention grabbing techniques that intrigue the viewer but scare them at the same time. Many use logos, which is appealing to a person’s logical output on drinking and driving. The overall goal of the Don’t Drink and Drive advertisements is to give the viewer a glimpse into the future of combining drinking and driving, because not only is the driver who has been drinking at danger but so are the surrounding drivers around him/her.

Since being in college I can not express enough to my peers don't drink and drive. Some adults may say this doesn't apply to them. I hate to say it but it applies to everyone. All it takes is to get behind the wheel and get pulled over and the cop to suspect the driver has been drinking. The offender will be arrested and then be acing charges in court, which possibly include jail time. So next time you start drinking put those keys away and if you need a ride call a sober friend, because not only is your life at risk but so are all the other drivers on the road.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
