For me, pictures are the most imminent thing we have to time travel. With just the click of a button we have the ability to freeze time and relive an instant over and over.
I was thirteen the first time I picked up a camera. It was dusty and old, and had maybe three frames left on it. I don't remember the first photos I took, but from that point on I rarely left my house without some kind of camera.
There's something special about the way we are able to capture moments. I've learned a lot over the past few years, but perhaps the most important lesson has been that the time we spend here is short and precious. I want to capture as much as I can.
Photography allows us to see the beauty in anything and everything. Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. The most talented photographers are the ones who can make even the ugliest sights alluring to their audience.
While I've come to understand the importance of remembering moments, I'm also learning that sometimes it's important to put the camera down.
After all, no matter how beautiful a photograph is, some moments are best experienced in real time without a lens.
In the end, we take photos so we can relive our journeys again and again. That's what makes it so hard to delete a photo. When we delete a photo it feels like we are deleting a memory.
Take photos to remember, see beautiful things, and capture all the greatness this world has to offer. When your speechless, capture the moments you can't put into words.
