It’s that time again where everyone is going to the store getting school supplies, packing up their room to go back to the “dorm life” and getting done with their summer job.
I'm ready to be back in school. I know it’s strange for me to say that. I can hardly believe I've just typed those words because summers were always filled with random adventures (if it was OK with my parents) and staying up until I couldn’t keep my eyes open anymore. I never wanted to go back to school because it was so boring.
But ever since I’ve been in college, I found myself missing my friends and the place where I go to school in the very beginning of summer. High school was always the same routine. I’d see the same people, the same teachers, have the same exact classes everyday which was just boring. Then in college I did not have the same schedule and everyday wasn't the same. I saw new people every day, which was so nice. I was able to meet people that have become, I consider, my second family. So when you’re with your second family eight-months out of the year and then don’t see them for three to four-months because you’re on summer break, it feels like something is out of place when you go back to your real home. I really can’t wait to see my friends all back together in the same state.
I’m ready for the college atmosphere. Just something about how everyone is walking to class, walking to class and seeing someone you know and stopping to say hello. Especially the random free giveaways I love. As well as the sitting down in between classes at a bench or table and people watching.
As weird it may sound, I’m excited for going to class and doing homework because it gets me in the mood to be hardworking and determined to get my work done. That hardworking mindset and determination kind of wears off when I come back home and do nothing.
Having a break from school for a couple of months is great and all, but sometimes I find myself missing the place where I go to school. College doesn’t last forever, so I’m definitely trying to make the most of it.
