A Timeline of Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's Relationship

"What. What? WHAT?" If that’s not your reaction to seeing Miley Cyrus don her 3.5 carat gold engagement ring from beau Liam Hemsworth, then you need to reevaluate your life. Because this is huge news. But don’t worry. Whether your rationale is that you think pop culture is above your pay grade or that you simply live under a rock, I’ll give you the lowdown on the situation so you don’t look stupid by asking who Liam Hemsworth is. Prepare to be educated.

2009: Thanks, Nicholas Sparks

Shortly after the end of "Hannah Montana," back when Miley Cyrus was the typical girl next door, she was cast the lead role in the Nicholas Sparks movie "The Last Song." And surprise, surprise, Liam Hemsworth was the love interest. Let’s just say the chemistry went beyond the camera.

2010: Start of Something New

Rumors flew about the pair, but nothing was ever confirmed until the red carpet premiere of their movie, when the couple confirmed that they were indeed a couple. Thus, the rocky road of their relationship began. The two were on and off during this year, and by the end of it, sources confirmed that they were most definitely “off.”

2011: We’re Back!

Surprise! Miley and Liam are back together again, and this time, stronger than ever. After claiming that they’re “taking things slow” and “just hanging out,” the couple stepped out together at various public functions, reestablishing their status. Things definitely seemed to be going swell for the pair. They were young, hot, and in love. What could go wrong?

2012: Here Comes the Bride

Spring of 2012 rolls around and Smiley Miley is sporting a sick ring on her left hand. Oh my God! Obviously, any ring on that finger means wedding bells, right? Wrong. Miley denies any talk of marriage and claims that people were just trying to stir up some drama. The happy couple stirs up some drama themselves when three months later they announce they actually ARE engaged, and look forward to a long-lasting marriage. Whiplash much?

2013: The Beginning of the End

This was definitely not the year for Miley and Liam. In fact, it was the end of Miley and Liam. For Miley, this year consisted of a drastic haircut, an VMA performance for the record books, and a new reputation. For Liam, it was the year of cheating allegations, family interventions, and a new role in a huge franchise, "The Hunger Games." No one knows for sure what happened during these 12 months, but surely, the stress took its toll. By the end of 2013, the engagement was called off, and the two went their separate ways.

2014-2015: Let’s Take a Break… Forever

At this point and time, it was easy to forget that Miley and Liam were ever even friends. Both were romantically linked to other individuals, and it was clear Miley and Liam would never be Miley and Liam ever again…

2016: Just kidding!

…that is, until they were spotted together in Liam’s homeland, Australia! The two attended a music festival, where they were supposedly quite affectionate towards each other. However, as I always say: pics or it didn’t happen. Miley must’ve been reading my mind, because not even a month later, the social media queen herself posted a selfie to Instagram, where you can clearly see her wearing her engagement ring. So, the engagement is back on?! The former couple of the century can finally have their happy ever after? It’s too soon to tell. But, one thing we do know is that Miley and Liam’s story isn’t over just yet.

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

11 Times Aubrey Plaza Described Sophomore Year

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
