With the swing of Halloween being over, everyone jumps at the chance to rush into christmas. I love Christmas and winter, just as much as the next person. Maybe even a little bit more at times. Except for when the snow starts to fall, then I am not such a fan of cold and winter.
But we can not forget what comes in between those holidays. Thats right, Im talking about Thanksgiving. Everyone tends to skip right over the holiday and start freaking out planning their holiday list. I mean I think layaway shopping is going to start during the summer with the way things are going. And what comes after Thanksgiving? The beloved american tradition of Black Friday. Where punching and tackling people to get the latest playstation game is acceptable. Or camping outside of Best Buy for the biggest flat screen television is the most important thing that you can do.
Thanksgiving is a time for family, and the best thing, food. In my family, we have a tradition called PJ Thanksgiving. Yes, you read that right. PJ Thanksgiving is where we stay in our pajamas all day long, that way you don’t have to worry about loosening that belt loop, or worrying about busting your pants open because you had a few too many pieces of turkey. Also, don't even get me started about how amazing the desserts are that we have on Thanksgiving. From the homemade cheesecake to the pumpkin rolls that melt in your mouth.
Something else that is really special about thanksgiving is the macys day parade. For years it has been a tradition to watch the parade in the morning. Ive always wanted to go to new york city and see the parade in person. That is one thing that is definitely on the bucket list for this girl. Its the one day of the year where you can fully appreciate everything you have. Get down to the root of what you are thankful for. Being thankful for your family, and your health, and the life you have. Smiles all day and love fill the air, not masks and blood, or holly and christmas ornaments.
So this thanksgiving tell your family an extra time how much you love them and how thankful you are for them.
