October has officially taken on the role as the official month of Breast Cancer Awareness. Anyone who has been affected by this tragedy understands the importance of supporting the cause, and helping to spread awareness about this harmful disease. Women who have breast cancer are mothers, daughters, and sisters. Personally, knowing someone who was affected by this gave me courage and a never quit attitude. This month is taken out to show that we respect their fight and support their everyday journey. Everyone with breast cancer should have support, rather it is from family, a doctor, or a stranger. The NFL does a great service by wearing pink accessories and donating money raised from the proceeds of “NFL Pink” merchandise to the breast cancer research center. On Tuesday, October 25, 2016 grant-funded community health system partners will team with the American Cancer Society and the NFL to launch their third nationwide breast cancer event. “A Crucial Catch Day” which will provide breast cancer education and free or low-cost screenings within underserved communities. The fight against breast cancer is one that will swing high and low, but if we as a human race help continue fighting, it will no longer win. In Arkansas there will be walks held representing the lives of lost loved ones to Breast Cancer. On Saturday October 29th at Village on the Creeks in Rogers, Arkansas.
