Furthermore, carrying out a transaction on the Ethereum Blockchain is not as complicated as you might think. There are certain things you should know to ensure that transactions you are making on ethereum network go through successfully. You don't want to use a platform without being well aware about the mechanism and how it works.
3 Things You Should Know About Ethereum
Transactions
There are certain terms and terminologies you have to be well acquainted with, to use Ethereum well. The Blockchain platform may seem slightly complex, but if you know these three basic terms, you will surely be on your way to a good start.
1. Gas Fee: The first term is "Gas Fee" (or "Transaction Fee"). This is a small incentive or fee that is paid to block miners to include your transaction in the Ethereum Blockchain. In other words to start any transaction you need to pay a little amount to miners too. The unit of "Gas Fee" is called Gwei ,and 1 Gwei is equivalent to 0.000000001 Ether. If you want to calculate the gas fee, you simply do so by multiplying the "Gas Price" whatever it may be with "Gas Used", this will give you your gas fee amount.
However, don't confuse "Gas Used" with "Gas Limit." Since "Gas Used" is the total amount of gas used for a transaction while "Gas Limit" is the maximum number of gas the transaction is allowed to use by the sender. Intermixing these will not give you the right gas price while calculation.
2. Network Congestion: Another important point is Network congestion. This also plays an important role in the entire process. From the amount of gas cost users would need to pay to the speed of the transaction. you can find out about the network congestion by the Pending transactions, since these pending transactions on the Ethereum network determine how congested the network is. The more congested the network is, the higher the gas price users would need to pay to secure their transactions on the blockchain.
3. Nonce: Lastly, you have to be well aware of the term Nonce. A nonce is the number of the transaction of the sender's wallet address. To maintain and organize the transaction on the platform, every transaction from an ethereum address is numbered sequentially. They start from the digit 0 for the first transaction and so on. For example, if the transaction nonce is 10, it is the 11th transaction sent from the sender's address. Nonce for the pending transaction shows as '0' eth transaction hash. You can't mix up by forgetting the 0 place.

Alternatively, you can also replace or cancel a transaction on the blockchain, this can be a bit tricky though. Miners usually prioritize transactions that pay a higher gas fee. When you send a transaction on Ethereum, it is sent to a "pending transaction pool" and the transaction you have just sent is sitting there waiting for miners to include it into the blockchain.
As mentioned, to include your transaction on the block chain it is sent to miners first, who later place it on the block chain for a specific fee. A miner is more likely to pick a transaction with a higher gas price, pushing transactions with low gas fees at the bottom of the queue.
This is where your transaction might be hanging and in the midst of network congestion, your transaction might take a while to be included since more transactions are being added into the pool offering higher gas fees than your transaction.
