If you've walked around Villanova's campus for any ammount of time in any weather below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, you've likely seen a parka with a patch on one of the arms. What this means, is that somebody is wearing a Canada Goose parka. These parkas, from what I understand, are the epitome of on-body-insulation. According to the website, they can keep wearers toasty in temperatures below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. They are also, like, the absolute cutest jacket. So trendy. So in. So... fashion.

Besides the absolute functionality and the amazing aesthetic, there is one other important thing to know about these jackets... They cost hundreds of dollars.

While the title of the article may suggest otherwise, I am not here to talk down upon people with these parkas, I am just simply hypothesizing about their effect on our campus community. I tend to believe that the administration and public safety officers take note of these jackets, they've done their research on Canada Goose. They know how cute they are, they know how warm they keep people, and most importantly, they know the price people pay to be able to look that good and stay that warm. Therefore, when weather starts to dip to temperatures that make most faces go numb and leave people in fear of freezing their ears off, they know that a good portion of the community is equipped to face the elements.

Think about it, if school was canceled whenever it was unbearable cold, how could people show off their parkas? The reality is, without the cold, nobody could flaunt how trendy they are, nobody would be able to get their moneys worth on their investment. So therefore, the administration and pub safe think their doing us a favor! When temperatures are unbearable, they know that some people can not only bear it, but look forward to standing outside Cova, flaunting the warmth inside of their beautiful parka.

So really, classes aren't that bad when you consider that without these arctic class days, nobody would be able to feel as thought they made a sound investment in their purchase of a Canada Goose Parka. So next time you're walking across campus, and every extremity feels ready to fall off, but you look down and you see that patch on your parka, make sure to thank Canada Goose that you can feel warm and cute at the same time, and thank Villanova for giving you the oppurtunity to do so, because they know what the people really want. Not comfort, but ~fashion~.

It's officially December. There is less than a month of 2024, and I still feel like yesterday was summer. Now comes the merriest time of the year, the Christmas season.

Everyone has been waiting for this time of year since mid-October (which is way too early, in my opinion) or before. It's a time of love, family, memory-making, and gift-giving. A lot of times when I ask friends and family what they want, I get a lot of "I don't know" or "I don't care."

I was sitting at my cubicle, now that I am an adult, looking at the rain pouring down on the windowsill, bumming on life, wishing for the rain to just stop for a full day.

There are moments where we count down the hours until work is over and how many more days till the weekend, and this many weeks until something exciting. Or something like that? Well, I was bumming because my next day off from work is not until Memorial Day weekend, which is not until the end of May. And since this is my first year out of college being a “real person,” I am totally missing the winter, spring and summer breaks. I am sure all of us have felt this way even if just for a hot minute…
