Well, the 2016 Presidential Election is now over, and all I can say is: Wow.
I want to first congratulate everyone on getting so passionate about this. I mean, really, this election sparked fires in our friendships, and our relationships with loved ones.
The way everyone defended their candidate was incredible. You defended them on social media. You defended them through rallies and protests. You argued their character, morals, and plans to your family members and friends. You defended them depsite scandals, rumors, and social media propaganda. I mean, that passion drove you throughout this whole exhausting campaigning season up until the election. For most of you, the passion intnsified as the election results came in.
Can you imagine if everyone took all of this passion, and instead of putting it towards a political candidate, we put it towards teaching people about God?
Yeah I said it.
If we posted about God as much as we did Clinton and Trump, people would be more knowledgeable. They would want to know what all of the fuss was about.
Can you imagine how much stronger our faith would be, if we defended God like we did those political candidates?
Faith like that could move mountains.
Can you imagine how much more peaceful we would be? How much happier? How much stronger?
Guys, these candidates all have rough backgrounds. They have all been involved in their own scandals. They have all done horrible things, and said horrible things.
So why are we putting so much of our time into defending them? Why are we posting relentlessly on social media about them?
Did you look at the cover photo for this article? Are those really people you want to defend? Is it really worth your time?
So, why are we arguing with people we care about? What good is there to come from these actions?
We should be putting all of our faith in to Him. We should be defending Him. We should be educating others about how great our God is, and we should be acting in a way that makes them want to listen (meaning: not bashing them for having a different belief).
God is perfect, and He loves each of us unconditionally. He IS someone worth defending.
The President of The United States may have a plan for the next four years, but God already has a lifelong plan for all of us.
Stop putting your future in the hands of a political candidate. You aren't going to find peace of mind that way.
John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
