Can I Bring My Skateboard, Electric Skateboard, Or Hover Board?

For the most part, we all like riding our e-skates and some of us even have aspirations of taking their boards on vacation with them. It would be amazing to use our e-board to explore a new city or nation. However, there is a major issue – safety! Big Lithium-ion battery is an issue. These batteries may catch fire and explode if broken, short-circuited, heated, or simply built incorrectly. This is a severe and dangerous condition that must be avoided at all costs while flying.

However, if we want to tour the globe with our boards, we'll have to fly with them. So, are electric skateboards capable of flight?

You can, after all. Flying with an electric skateboard that has a battery capacity of less than 160 Watt is possible, but airlines have the last say, and you may be denied boarding if you try. Airline passengers are not allowed to carry any batteries larger than 160 Wh. Airlines must approve batteries with a capacity between 100 and 160 Wh before they may be transported as carry-on luggage. Most electric skateboards aren't suitable for air travel due to their large battery capacity.

There are several tiny battery-powered boards available on the market. Your chances of flying have increased dramatically since getting your hands on these items. There are a few businesses that sell specialized carry-on batteries. Here, I'll discuss the many electric skateboard models and their battery sizes, international air travel laws, airline practices, and e-skateboards you can fly with, before giving you several suggestions on how to fly with your e-board and other options if it doesn't work. The use of skateboards that are not powered by a motor or batteries is allowed.

Of course, you're welcome to bring it along. Carry-on or personal items such as motorized skateboards or battery-powered are welcome as long as they are in good condition.

With wheels raised to prevent rolling, and within the carry-on or personal item size restrictions of Spirit.

When not in use, guests should store their motorized skateboards somewhere out of sight, ideally beneath their seats. When flying with a skateboard, the luggage allowance and carry-on bag fees apply. Additionally, a liability release form must be completed and signed by all parties.

Hoverboards And Electric Skates

Electric skateboards and hoverboards will not be accepted for transit on Spirit Airlines owing to hazardous materials regulations.

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
