It's evident that the Golden State Warriors are the powerhouse in the NBA this upcoming year. They were dominant in the 2015-2016 season by shattering the 1996 Chicago Bulls 72-10 record, but they blew a 3-0 lead in the finals against king James in the NBA finals. However, they acquired one of the best players in the league, Kevin Durant. Is it possible that they can lose in the western conference? Can anyone beat the Warriors?
The frontcourt depth could take a step back without Andrew Bogut, Harrison Barnes Festus Ezeli and Marreese Speights, but the Warriors will dominate teams with their lineup of Curry, Thompson, Andre, Durant and Draymond Green lineup that it shouldn’t matter at all. They will be shooting more three pointers than ever, and it's a scary thought to see KD and Curry on the court together.
There was one particular controversy after signing Kevin Durant, and it was Klay Thompson when he was asked about sacrificing his game,
"I feel kind of disrespected that people keep using the term sacrifice to describe me and describe us," Thompson told The Vertical. "We all want to see each other do well. But I'm not sacrificing [expletive], because my game isn't changing. I'm still going to try to get buckets, hit shots, come off screens. I want to win and have a fun time every game we play." As long as this team keeps decent chemistry and no one gets severely injured, it should be a cake walk for them to coast through the Western Conference.
The Warriors blew it in last years Finals. It seems extremely unlikely that the same outcome happens again this upcoming season.
