Life At Camp Dartmouth

The beauty of sophomore summer.

I am gonna come right out and say it: I love summer school. Maybe it’s the place, maybe it’s the people, but Sophomore Summer has been one of the best summers ever. Forget the 6:30 workouts and normal class load. The College on the Hill makes for a perfect summer spot. Here’s why.

Lazy days at the river

With no air conditioning in dorms and the heat of summer, one of the only ways to cool off (besides a cold shower) is heading down to the river. Time spent at the river is never time wasted.

Workouts with my people

Although 6:15 lift is not the most fun thing I have ever done, working out with the other '18s motivates the hell out of me. I absolutely love getting to train with my four best friends leading up to our junior year. Also, it is infinitely better than completing the summer workout packet at home (sorry squad...).

Homework on the Green (doing anything on the Green, really)

While homework during summer months is not an ideal situation, sitting out in the green makes it much more bearable. The green is a great place to make everything better, from eating meals to studying for exams to evening sunsets.

'18s everywhere!!!

I love the '17s and my '19s, and even my incoming '20s, but having only the '18s on campus is an awesome opportunity to meet other classmates. While I am not one to branch out much, I have more this term than the previous two years combined. And though I have made new friends this summer, I can assure you that it is rare to see me without my fellow DWB '18s.

If I have learned one thing in my lifetime, it is that friends are a privilege. No one is required to give you their company and yet there is some sort of shared connection that keeps you together. And from that friendship, you may even find yourself lucky enough to have a few more friends, thus forming a group. Here are just a few signs that prove your current friend group is the ultimate friend group.

When it comes to television, there’s very few sets of on-screen siblings that a lot of us can relate to. Only those who have grown up with siblings knows what it feels like to fight, prank, and love a sibling. Ross and Monica Geller were definitely overbearing and overshared some things through the series of "Friends," but they captured perfectly what real siblings feel in real life. Some of their antics were funny, some were a little weird but all of them are completely relatable to brothers and sisters everywhere.

College is a great place to meet people, especially through Greek life. If you look closely at sororities, you'll quickly see there are many different types of girls you will meet.

1. The Legacy.

Her sister was a member, her mom was a member, all of her aunts were members, and her grandma was a member. She has been waiting her whole life to wear these letters and cried hysterically on bid day. Although she can act entitled at times, you can bet she is one of the most enthusiastic sisters.

RBF
Pop Trigger / YouTube

I'll admit it, I have a condition called RBF or, if you will, Resting Bitch Face.

Anna Kendrick, poor Kristen Stewart, the Queen of England are all life-long sufferers of RBF. Victoria Beckham even made a career out of it! And though it's usually used to describe women, some men are also afflicted. Kanye West is the best example of this.
