If you’re anything like me, your favorite show is probably Parks and Recreation, and if your favorite show is Parks and Recreation, you’re also disappointed that there are only seven seasons with no hope of return anytime soon. If you haven’t seen this show, all the seasons are on Netflix, so there’s no reason for you not to be able to see it! I’m going to list 15 reasons that make you a true Parks and Rec fan.

1. While Tom’s character is beyond annoying most of the time, you have to admit that his phrases add an interesting dimension to the show.

2. You hate Eagleton as much as Leslie.

3. You wish Mouse Rat was a real band, and you know most, if not all, of the songs they sing on the show.

4. Chris Traeger’s energy is infectious, so you want to run a marathon even though you have never even ran a short distance race.

5. You want a friendship like Ann and Leslie’s.

6. You find yourself becoming feministic because of Leslie’s strong feministic views.

7. You fan girl over Li’l Sebastian.

8. Admit it. You cried when Li’l Sebastian was lost.

9. You also cried when Li’l Sebastian died and during Mouse Rat’s “5000 Candles in the Wind.”

10. You quote Andy Dwyer on the daily.

11. You quote Leslie Knope on the daily.

12. You’re obsessed with April and Andy’s relationship, and your relationships fail because you set standards that you have to be like them.

13. You get incredibly, super excited when you see people in parks.

14. You want to one day work in government.

15. You hate Greg Pikitis. By hate, you mean absolutely cannot stand to the point where you will stalk him with your policeman boyfriend, but Pikitis will still prank you anyway.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
