Calling All Eureka College Students!
Ed Gregory

Hi Eureka College,

Today, I would like to talk to you about Odyssey. Do you know what it is? It's a social media platform where you're able to share your voice, your passion, your opinions, with virtually anyone and everyone. You can write anything from a serious journalistic piece to a lighthearted listicle, a poem, a short story, essentially whatever you feel like you want to write. Another great thing is that it's something to add to your resume!

One thing that I've noticed as I've been writing for Odyssey, is that my quality of writing has improved. I've developed some key skills when it comes to writing, whether it be an article or a listicle. I've also gotten better at proofreading and editing my own work. It's a great way to help you improve your writing skills without having to write a boring paper or do repetitive grammar exercises.

Something else to consider is that it's something fairly light to add to your schedule. As a part of Odyssey, you submit one article (or poem, etc.) a week. That's it. There's no word count. Sounds pretty easy right? It's made even easier because you're getting to write about what you're interested in. Want to rant about politics? Go ahead. Love technology? Give us a listicle of your favorite gadgets or programs! There are endless amounts of things you could write about.

If I've piqued your interest, request to apply here. We're always looking to add diverse perspectives to our community of writers here at Eureka. If you have any questions about Odyssey, I'm more than happy to answer them! I'm sure you can find me...it is Eureka after all.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

singing
Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
