By now you should have heard of a film titled "Call Me by Your Name" which is based on the novel by André Aciman which was published in January 2008. The movie was released around the United States later last year in 2017 to select theatres in New York and Los Angeles so when this January the movie was finally released in major theatres all over the country I naturally had to go and see it.

One Friday in January of 2018 a female friend and I dressed in warm sweaters and jeans armed with snacks and drinks to ready ourselves for the magnificent movie that is… "Call Me by Your Name". When you first entered the room you could feel the anticipation to see something utterly new, there was a collective anticipation and willingness to be dazzled by the stunning landscape of northern Italy. We like, the main character Elio were ready to fall I love.

CMBYN is a story of a powerful and young romance that blooms between a young 17-year-old Italian boy named Elio and a suave handsome American graduate student named Oliver. Oliver is coming to spend what seems to be a simple six weeks in Italy with Elio and his family as he helps Elio’s father with his research in classical archeology. While six weeks make seem like a short time for a romance to blossom what you will see is that in six weeks love can become immortal.

Over the course of the movie, Elio and Oliver begin to share and learn about each other, each to either too stubborn or too anxious to really move into the next stage of their relationship until one pivotal movement where they discover themselves in each other.

CMBYN is a stunning movie with amazing acting and gorgeous landscapes that will transport you to a higher realm. It will make you question yourself and the world around you as this movie of young desire swirls through your mind. Honestly, CMBYN might be one the best love stories in a very long time. It’s free of clichés and super macho men chasing after a damsel in distress. Instead, it’s simply a movie about two people who fall so deeply in love that you will fall in love as well.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
