California Weather As Told By Blair Waldorf

It's bipolar, unpredictable, and not as fun as it seems.

East Coasters are convinced that us LA folk have it made, what with our amazing weather and warm beaches. However, little does the world know that California living under the 100-degree sun isn't really all that.

Can we please just get some cool air around here every once and a while, or is that seriously too much to ask for?

We all want what we don't have, a truth that Cali residents know far too well! Here are the true feels of California's climate, as told by "Gossip Girl" character Blair Waldorf:

1. It's literally sunny 95% of the year.

2. That said, when it rains, it pours.

3. Cali drivers literally forget how to function when water falls from the sky. Clearly, it is an indicator of an approaching apocalypse.

4. When we were little, our elementary schools imported snow so we would feel special on the holidays, even though it was 85 degrees outside. Needless to say, we weren't fooled.

5. You would wake up in the morning and it will be freezing cold, but you'll ditch your parka by noon when the weather has reached the mid 90s.

6. Our version of Fall is a 75-degree day with minimal clouds.

7. We buy a surplus of sweaters it's usually too hot outside to wear and obsess over pumpkin-flavored everything hoping and praying for some light rain and a cool breeze.

8. Disappointment is accepting that the weather will likely never drop below 65.

9. But then the weather channel boasts that we're going to have sunny skies until Christmas, as if that's a good thing.

10. Lightning - a very rare occurrence that is synonymous with ticking bombs or gunshots and absolutely unfamiliar and terrifying.

11. We get jealous of states with storms and blizzards (Just kidding... Kind of).

12. We love our sun, but sometimes, we just wish it wouldn't shine all the damn time.

13. @ Mother Nature:

14. Only few of us will know what it is actually like to kiss in the rain. Tragic.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that.
