I drove from California to New York with my family in an effort to see "the real America". At this point you might be thinking I'm crazy, but hear me out. This was one of the best trips I've ever been on.
We went from Dublin, CA to Manhattan, NY and we saw things from a rodeo in a small town to Mount Rushmore. And in my opinion, escaping my little Silicon Valley bubble humbled me and taught me so much. In times where America truly is more divided than ever, it helps to see the world from another American's perspective.
We did the small things and saw the small towns, and it truly was beautiful. I really do recommend it to everyone because not only did it bring me closer to my family, but it brought me closer to the rest of the country as well. This is one thing that I can definitely say changed my life and my perspective on people, and it gave me hope that maybe we really are going to be alright.
