Last week, my job as a camp counselor came to an end.
For 39 days of the summer, my life was no longer just mine. Instead, it was shared with eleven little five-year-old boys who stole my heart at the first "Hello". My little boys are strong and mighty, despite their size. They're sassy, athletic, creative and have the sweetest smiles you will ever see.
Being a camp counselor is the most selfless job in the world. You don't come first-your kids do- no matter what. Even when I celebrated my birthday at camp, the day wasn't about me, and that's how it should be. Making my kids happy made me happy.
I'm really going to miss it.
