Buying Matching Wedding Bands for The Bride & The Groom

Modern couples have the option of choosing matching wedding bands, or completely different wedding bands or go for the middle path by choosing complimentary wedding bands. No matter what wedding ring you choose to wear, once you place a ring on the ring finger, you become a part of the custom that has been in vogue since time immemorial. In most of the Western countries or cultures, grooms and brides conventionally place a wedding ring on specifically the third finger of their life partner’s left hand since people once firmly believed that there was a vein connecting the heart to that finger. However, medical science has been successful in rectifying that belief, but till today the tradition continues.

According to Forbes, in the past, only around Christmas time, popping the question was a common custom, and typically, weddings took place in June. However, modern couples get engaged less formally, more quickly, and today weddings are scheduled throughout the year. Traditions are not the same across all cultures or countries, and even in the U.S.A. for instance, double-wedding ring ceremonies, where even the bridegroom gets a wedding ring did not seem to exist before the dawn of the 20th century.

The Current Wedding Band Scenario in the United States

The traditional choice for American couples seems to be a matched set comprising one wedding band for him and one for her.

Some Reasons to Opt For a Matched Wedding Band Set

· A matched wedding band set is an indication that the bride and the groom have become a single unit, two bodies but one soul!

· It is an outward expression of the fact that you and your life partner belong together and have similar tastes.

· It demonstrates that you and your life partner believe in customs and traditions and wish to uphold them.

Some Reasons to Opt For a Non-Matching Wedding Band Set

Many modern couples in the United States follow the non-traditional road today and opt for different wedding bands or non-matching sets. Here are some reasons why:

· For expressing your individuality.

· For avoiding a situation where a partner is pressurized to opt for a matching wedding band that he or she may not particularly like.

· For choosing a wedding band that best complements both your size and complexion or skin tone.

· For opting for a wedding band that best reflects your personality and style.

Some Reasons to Opt For Complementary Wedding Band Set

For some couples, complimentary wedding bands instead of matched wedding rings could be the best option. You may choose from two wedding rings of identical metals but different styles or opt for two wedding rings of the same style but different metals. Choose complimentary wedding rings if:

· The bride or the groom has a fascination for simple patterns while the other is enchanted by intricate designs with more detail. You may opt for wedding bands with a similar appearance except that one band is made with highly polished gold while the other band has an inlay or texture of some other metal at the center.

· The bride has a fascination for an eternity ring that has diamonds all around it. However, the groom would like to settle for something less ornate. It is best to opt for a complimentary wedding band set where the groom’s diamond wedding band may have just three diamonds like the bride’s eternity ring.

Conclusion

You should choose a wedding band that makes you feel happy and comfortable. You must allow your life partner to take his or her own decision. After all, you can celebrate your love for each other by giving priority to your partner’s choice and preference.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
