With the onset of the Fall semester comes the nerve-wracking season of career fairs. These career fairs have the potential to be a really great opportunity. If you know how to talk to employers and dress correctly, you could land yourself an internship or even a full time job! If that's not a lot of pressure on an impromptu conversation with a recruiter, I don't know what is.

When I came in as a freshman, I thought that I had a pretty good idea about what the term "business professional" meant. As it turns out, I did not. My jacket didn't fit right, I was wearing black panty hose, and I wasn't really sure what was going on.

I have come a long way from the point and now I have a much better wardrobe, filled with the essentials of any business professional ensemble. What are those essentials? Well, let's take a look!

1. A Tailored Blazer

A blazer that fits you well is a staple in any business professional look. It can be easy to get the fit wrong, you don't want it to be too tight or too baggy. A good blazer can be pricey, but it is definitely worth the investment!

2. Skirts and Pants

If you choose to wear pants or a skirt, make sure that they either match exactly or are a stark contrast. You don't want to have two different shades of black! Also, skirts should be knee length and not too tight.

3. What about dresses?

Dresses are completely appropriate if they are done correctly. The same rules apply to dresses as do pants and skirts. Make sure that it fits well and that it matches your blazer.

4. Color

A pop of color can really help convey your personality. Personally, I love adding a bright color to my business looks because I think that it helps show potential employers my personality. Just remember to keep it simple. A statement necklace or colorful blouse will go a long way.

5. Shoes, shoes, shoes

Shoes are an important part of your business professional look. In reference to color, I stick with nude or black. For career fairs I typically recommend flats because there is a lot of standing and walking involved, but heels are an option as well. If you do opt for heels a few good rules to follow are to keep the heel height to around 2.5-3 inches.

6. Confidence!

Your attire says a lot about who you are, but your demeanor will tell more. Smile, have confidence, and be yourself! Recruiters will be able to tell if you feel comfortable.

These tips are geared toward women, but most of the same rules can go for men too! Here's a quick recap for you: Make sure your suit fits, matching is important, show your personality, wear closed toed shoes, and be confident. Now grab those business cards and resumes and get out there and get yourself an internship. I know you can do it!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
