Materials: red, yellow, and black paint, liquid latex, tweezers, red or clear lip gloss, syringe and petroleum jelly (optional)
Step 1:
Dab a splotchy layer of red where you want the burn.
Step 2:
Layer an uneven layer of latex. I find it's easiest to do this if you have a harder uneven surface. The sponge I'm using has layers of dried latex and cotton buildup from previous makeups. You could also use a sponge that's cut into uneven layers and dabbing the latex on instead of painting or brushing it on. Repeat this step 2-3 times. Wait for the latex to dry completely before adding another layer.
After applying first layer:
After two layers:
After three layers:
Step 3:
Gently scratch at the latex creating holes with the tweezers. Peel the holes in all different directions.
Step 4:
This step is optional. If you have a syringe, fill it with petroleum jelly and make "blisters" and seal the holes with liquid latex. I don't have access to a syringe so I cannot show you this step.
Step 5:
Paint around the holes of missing skin and some random spots with black. This mimics charred skin.
Step 6:
Paint the inside of the holes with yellow, red and some black. Then apply the lip gloss.
Step 7:
Dab a mixture of red and black around the whole burn blending some of it together. I found it was easier to use a pain brush as opposed to a sponge. You can add as much or as little red as you want.
Side note: If you want to create a burn scar then simply stop after applying the layers of latex. The red undertone is optional if you want a fully healed scar. Mess around with it and experiment with different techniques. If you don't like how it looks simply peel it off and restart.
