Burger King is tag-teaming with Cheetos again to produce another incentive item in hopes of driving up same-store sales growth in a lackluster year of performance for the fast food giant. Cheetos chicken fries are the newest addition to the Burger King menu, and will sell nine-piece orders for $2.89 (excluding sales tax).
The premise of this creation is simple: Burger King’s famous chicken fries covered in Cheetos dust. Burger King has previously introduced other promotional chicken fries to boost sales growth and garner market share in what’s becoming an increasingly competitive fast food market. Other promotional chicken fries introduced from Burger King include their Buffalo Chicken, Fiery Chicken, and Jalapeno chicken fries.
Promotional items are not a relatively new concept for the fast food industry. However, as same-store sales continue to languish for many fast food companies like Burger King. In 2016, the top performing fast food companies have been McDonald’s, who continue their resurgence from down years of performance, and the high growth company of Sonic. Sonic also uses promotional items and sales to boost market share space and same-store sales.
The Cheetos Chick Fries from Burger King will be a limited-time promotional item on Burger King Menus nationally.
