There is nothing sweeter than an animal excited to see you when you get home. When everything goes haywire in your life, your pet is your constant. I have had years with a pet and years without one. I owned many animals when I was younger. I had a cat, dog, fish, hamsters, mice, ducks, bunnies and a few others. However, a bunny is one of best-behaved pets along with one of the sweetest.
I am all for a puppy and the love of a dog. However, a bunny makes an exceptional pet and watching he/she grow into a rabbit is an experience unlike any other. Here are five reasons a bunny makes a good pet:
1. They are litter boxed trained upon birth.
Sure, they may need to learn where it is, how to get in and how to work it upon getting a new home. However, they naturally are extremely clean animals and they need to have their space be tidy. In the wild, they have their separate areas as well.
2. Bunnies are absolutely precious.
The way they look at you and wait for food or water. They truly depend on you and once you get to know them and you have that bond, you see the trust they have in you. The way they hop over to you and sit on your lap, they truly help with anxiety and keep your mind busy.
3. Bunnies spook easily but they also get excited easy.
Rabbits have extremely trait-based personalities. They vibe off of you in particular. If you are in a hyper mood, they will run with you and hop around. If you are feeling down, they will set their chins on the floor and sit there, hoping to be pet. They will close their eyes and be calm with you.
4. They love.
The single best reason for getting a pet is to have a little buddy. A partner with you at home. They are such lovable animals with such passion. They will lick you if they are feeling loving or they will thump if something isn't right. They are extremely well behaved even though some nights they are like infants if they wake you up because they want to play!
5. Last but certainly not least, they are fun!
Rabbits make you laugh and smile and truly there is not anything better. They jump, twirl and do flips in the air. Whether it be for attention or to get out their energy, we will never know.
