Mom,

They say that your mom will be your best friend for life, and the more I grow up I come to realize that more and more. So here's to you, Mom.

First, I want to say thank you. Thank you for the endless support and love that you have given me, for listening at any time of the night, and for always giving the best advice. You'll never know how much that truly means to me. The more I grow, I come to realize that you're my best friend in the world, and I am so glad that I get to share my life with you. I can't thank you enough for all of the endless nights you spent cooking and cleaning. For all of the extras you provide me when you don't have to. and most of all, for giving me life and for putting every single one of your kid's needs before yourself. There's not enough time in the world to thank you for that. Thank you for being the super woman that you are. There are so many days that I sit and wonder what I did to deserve a mom like you, and there truly isn't an answer. God blessed me with one of the best women in the world to be my mom, and I couldn't be more thankful for that.

Second, I want to say I'm sorry. I'm sorry for all of the times that I disrespected you and called you things that will stick in my head for the rest of my life. You don't deserve half of the things thrown at you, but after every fight you always still love me. Thank you. I'm sorry for all the nights I let you cry over something I said or did. I promise I didn't mean it, and I hope you know how much I wish that I could take it back. You are my backbone, and I'm so sorry for treating you badly. I hope you know how much I love you, and that I will forever be by your side,

Last, I want you to know how much you are loved. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about calling you to tell you about my day. We may not always talk, but I am always thinking about you. You are such an amazing person, Mom, and I hope you realize that. I have never met someone else in my life that puts everyone they meet before themselves. I hope you know your kindness does not go unnoticed, and you are one special woman. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank God for everything you have done for me over the years. I love you with all of my heart, Mom, and I hope you know I will always be your little girl.

So thank you, for not only being my best friend, but also my mom. I don't know what life would be like without you.

Love,

Your Daughter

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
