Everyone wants to get the greatest gift for the important people in their life, but budget can easily get in the way. It's hard to find gifts that are both thoughtful and affordable, but this list is sure to have you looking like the friend that always knows exactly what to get. Combining any of these is also a great idea!
A piece of art for the friend that doesn't know how they want to decorate.
Any art works. The most spectacular thing about gifting art is that you can make it or buy it. Even a poster of their favorite album or film is perfectly acceptable, not to mention personal and fun.
Tea for the "mom" of your group
We all have that friend that seems so grown up. The one who iis always ready for finals, brings sunblock and snacks on road trips, and is always willing to stay up late with you to give advice. Tea-either you're favorite or theirs- is always acceptable.
Buy-or make- their favorite album.
I'm not condoning burning your own CDs, but as long as you don't sell them, it's legal (right?) I love doing a mixtape-style as a gift; you can even make them several CDs with different themes or genres. This gift is best for the friends that drive, because no one really uses CDs anymore, do they?
Knit a scarf for the friend that's always cold.
This is a little tough if you've never knit before, and you may take some time on this, but who won't be excited when they see the manifestation of your time, effort, and consideration? Bonus: If it turns out horrible, you will have an inside joke for a few future holidays.
Baked goods for the hungry friend
That friend that always snacks on half of your sandwich at lunch? Give them exactly what they want for Christmas: food. Find their favorite baked recipe and surprise them, either at school or during your holiday.
Thrifted goods for the "vintage friend"
Thrift shopping is a super fun way to find some unique pieces and save money. Hit up some local shops and look for something that your bestie will love. You can also make it more interactive by giving them cash and stating (writing it on the envelope is easiest) that it's "designated thrifting money."
