As graduation approaches, everyone is making plans, applying to jobs, and packing up their apartments in Huntsville. Many Sam Houston State University students are leaving this semester, or planning on starting their last semester here to graduate in May 2017. Knowing this and knowing I am a part of this group, I could not help but to reflect on what has made my time here at this wonderful university so fun. Aside from the friends that has become family, the professors that help you through any rough patch, and a community that is so welcoming, what did I do here that made my time so memorable? So in honor of graduation and as a way to spend your last semester(s) at Sam Houston having the time of your life, I've made a bucket list. Try 'em all, you won't regret it!

1. Carve your name in Austin Hall to leave your mark on SHSU

2. Spend a Sunday with your best friends at all-day happy hour at Humps

3. Visit Demons Road if you dare

4. Have a beer and enjoy some karaoke at 12th Street Bar, this is by far my favorite find

5. Take a walk through campus at night, if you're lucky you can make it onto the football field

6. Take a random trip to Flow Style for $5.00 piercing night, it's better with a bigger group

7. Clean out your apartment and donate to the local SAAFE House

8. Enjoy a brunch at Toasted

9. Pop a Champagne bottle in the fountain on campus, but literally be in the fountain

10. Visit Black Jesus in Oakwood Cemetery

11. Get a random tattoo from FN Classy Tattoo for fun

12. Go hiking around the trails behind the dog park, there's creeks, woods, and cute photo opportunities

13. Make it on the infamous Old Row/TSM/TFM social networks, enjoy your five minutes of fame

14. Take a trip to Blue Lagoon for a day

15. Take senior photos at your favorite place (aka The Jolly Fox)

16. Last but not least, find your college BFF

Make these happen and you'll have memories of a lifetime to remember your time in good ole Huntsville, Texas. Enjoy!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
