A Totally Rocking Bucket List To Complete This Summer

Summer is here and most of us that are away are looking forward to being back in our old stomping grounds. Going to school in another state has it disadvantages, which mostly consist of not being able to go to your favorite hotspots. I know when we get back into our own towns, we will start going back to those spots and start enjoying our summer. The question is what to do first? For me, as long as it gets crossed off my bucket list of things I want to accomplish before next semester, I will be happy.

Here are 15 things that I want to cross off my bucket list:

1. Head down the shore.

Even if I go one time during the summer, I want to be able to head down the shore and get some sun.

2. Eat at White Manna.

White Manna is this small little place in Jersey that supposedly sells really awesome burgers. I never eaten there, but my friend keeps insisting. I do want to try it at least once.

3. Go rock climbing.

All of my friends have been going rock climbing, and I never got a shot at it. I sucked at it when I was younger, but I don't mind learning something new.

4. Go to a midnight premiere.

I absolutely love watching movies. I always have to go to at least one midnight premiere before the summer is over. Late night movies are the best considering that there is barely anyone in theater.

5. Six Flags.

Going to an amusement park is definitely on my bucket list. In Jersey, Six Flags Great Adventure is one of the biggest amusement parks. There is no other place to be in the summer when you want some fun with friends.

6. Clinton Road.

Clinton Road is a haunted road in Jersey. It is said that satanic rituals have taken place there, ghosts travel along the road, and overall it is very creepy. My friend and I want to take trip there and see if we could find anything.

7. Food Truck Festivals.

Everyone keeps talking about them and I'm interested in going to one. This summer, I plan to find a festival and grab some friends to go and eat some food.

8. IHOP.

IHOP is one of my favorite restaurants. I have to go there before the summer ends because there isn't one nearby the campus that I am on.

9. State Fair.

I am happy that the state fair comes to town when I am actually home. My friends and I would pick a date and spend time there until it was time for closing.

10. Drive-In Theater.

I don't know if there any drive-in theaters near where I live, but I definitely want to go hunting for one just to see what all the fuss is about.

11. Thrift Shopping.

Some people that I know said that they have found some pretty cool stuff. I know some spots near me, and I am curious to see what I can find.

12. Pull an all-nighter with my best friend.

After not seeing one another for nine months, there is a lot to catch up on. There is only one way to accomplish all that. A sleepover with no actual sleep happening.

13. Go hiking.

Hiking is one way to get in touch with nature. It is always fun to get some sun and adventure with friends. Whether it is in the forest or on a mountain, it is always fun.

14. Game night with friends.

Game night is always a way to determine who a person truly is. Are they a cheater? A stickler for rules? Do they go with the flow? Competitive? It can turn out to be quite interesting.

15. Go to a festival.

Festivals are always fun and an interesting experience. Hopefully, there would be festivals near me that I can attend. It can be music, art, culture, etc.

In case you're unaware, "resting bitch face" is the term used to describe when a person's natural, expressionless face makes it look like they are mad at the world. Whether they are walking down the street or simply spacing out thinking about what to eat for dinner, it's very easy for others to assume that this person is either upset or mad at them. Because of this, those of us with Resting Bitch Face (RBF), and especially us women, have all experienced many of the same situations and conversations, including:

We've all had a crush before. Whether it leads to something or nothing, the process has all been the same. The awkward feelings, the stalking, and the stress of trying to keep this huge secret. The feeling of becoming a total spazz is something that cannot be avoided, and the most spazzy family that can relate to this feeling is the Belcher's.

At the tender age of 18, we are bestowed with the title of “adult.” For 17 years, we live under the rules and guidelines of our parents, school, and government, and to stray from any of those rules or guidelines marks us as a rebel. At 18, though, we must choose which college we want to go to or what career we want. We are allowed and encouraged to vote. We can buy lottery tickets and cigarettes. We can drop out of school, leave our household, and do other "adult" things. At 18, we start down a path of thinking for ourselves, when for the entirety of our lives other institutions have been mandated to think and do for us.

You get to check things off of your requirement checklist. It's an opportunity for a fresh start with new classes (which you tell yourself you'll never skip.) This process, which always starts out so optimistic, can get frustrating really quickly. Here are 25 thoughts you have when registering for classes.

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.
