Who doesn’t love a delicious brunch? Meant to be enjoyed with family and/or friends, it’s the only meal that matters to many – especially on the weekend. Cleveland is filled with fabulous brunch choices – it’s just a matter of finding the one that bet suits your mood, location, and taste. The following are some of my local favorites. Enjoy!

pHuel Cafe

Located in the Theater district downtown pHuel is the perfect place to pop in if you are staying downtown and need a clean healthly brunch. Since both my apartment and office are within blocks I often order a Ginger Get Well Smoothie and Breakfast Sandwich to-go. There are healthy options or more traditional breakfast potatoes if you like options.

Bonbon Cafe

Surprisingly there are not many places open on the weekends in the early morning if you are looking for a place to grab breakfast at 8 a.m. but Bonbon is! Bonbon is not only a cafe but also a Pastry shop so you can grab a cupcake from a pastry chef who won on Cupcake Wars for home.

Le Petit Triangle Café

Is the perfect place enjoy brunch in a quite little cafe setting. Located in Ohio City you will have no problem to park close by and walk over. I do recommend calling before if possible there may be a small wait, but believe me it is worth it. The open kitchen concept is taken to a whole new level at Le Petit Triangle.

Jackflaps

There are two locations of this wonderful brunch spot. Downtown in the arcade and Ohio City. The Ohio City location becomes very popular on the weekends, so they offer communal seating in order to keep the line moving fast. With that said Jackflaps is not where you should try to go with a large group. Both locations are in a walkable area so you can put your name in - wander the shops in the arcade and get seated. There are both sweet and savory options. Personal favorite would be the Graham Cracker Waffle.

Market

Worth the trip to the west side of Cleveland Market located in Rocky River has a beautiful patio in the summer and a cozy warm wooden feel for traditional seating. Market is the perfect place to grab Mimosas and brunch with your girlfriends.

Now that we have worked our way all over Cleveland with my favorite brunch spots, let me know if I have somewhere that may need honorable mentions for next time! Hope you are able to check out one of my favorites and enjoy the wonderful brunch Cleveland has to offer!

Happy Brunching!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
