It is with a heavy heart that I write about the death of "Legally Blonde's" Bruiser Woods, AKA Moonie. According to his trainer, he died on March 10, 2016 at the age of 18.
Bruiser Woods was the beloved companion of Elle Woods, the sorority girl turned lawyer who showed us all that intelligence and stereotypical femininity are not mutually exclusive. Elle had Bruiser by her side as she studied for the LSATs, attended her first day of law school, and won a highly publicized murder trial as a first-year law student. He was her silent companion, staying by her side during the most stressful times of her life. For that, he is an inspiration, as not many of us can say that they have a friend—or pet—who would do that for us. My cat will only sit on my lap when I'm sad if her food bowl is empty.
First we lose Paris Hilton's dog, and now this. It's been a rough couple of years for famous chihuahuas. I don't know who's next, but I can tell you right now that I'm going to be saddened by the loss. I guess, at some point, we must say goodbye to the iconic pets of our generation and live with the subsequent realization of our fleeting youth.
This is an extremely difficult time for me, and I hope you will all respect my privacy as well as my decision not to write an article this week.
Just kidding. Bruiser AKA Moonie wouldn't have wanted that. Rather than mourn the loss of a dear friend, let us celebrate his life with some of the best moments from his most famous project, "Legally Blonde."
1. Bruiser's killer outfits.
We have to start with one about Bruiser himself, of course, so -
He dresses better than I do.
2. The sick burns that must have taken some serious aloe vera to soothe.
3. That the book-loving girls were the mean girls.
Seriously, I've seen my fair share of romantic comedies, and this just about never happens.
4. The undeniable girl power.
5. The speech that was a summation of the movie's entire lesson.
6. And last but not least, the fact that Elle unapologetically brought her dog to a murder trial.
I'm not saying that she shouldn't have. I would have wanted him there, too.
Oh, Bruiser Woods, you will be sincerely missed.
