Siblings in general, are a handful, younger or older it doesn't matter their age, they will always be a pain. But, they are family and we are told “family is forever” and you should love them unconditionally. I have come to realize in my almost 21 years on this planet, that family is the most important aspect of life. I have six brothers and sisters and I have also come to realize that brothers Trump sisters, see what I did there? Granted, I have lived all of my life with my two twin brothers who are four years younger than me. When I was thirteen, my mother remarried and I was blessed with the gift of sisters and another younger brother. I now have an older sister by six months, and a younger sister by two years. Many years later and my whole family was blessed with a bundle of joy, thankfully another brother. My baby brother Ryder made me realize how much I love brothers over sisters, no offense to my step sisters. Here are some reasons why brothers, especially younger brothers are the bomb dot com.

1. They will play dress up with you.

My two younger brothers loved playing dress up with me. I had so many princess and fairy costumes it was ridiculous. They loved to dress up with me and the best part about it was watching them try to walk in heels, and myself as well. We all were riding the struggle bus, but their skills have grown a bit and so have mine.

2. I can always rely on my brothers to have my back.

Even though my brothers are younger, all of them especially my biological twin brothers, have my back. Even with me being away at school, they will check up on me just to make sure that everything is alright. Younger or older, brothers will always have your back and punch the guy that broke your heart… and the next one too.

3. They ask you for girl advice.

At a certain age, my brothers started to ask me for girl advice and I said to them no dating for you EVER. That was the day I was dreading, the day when they finally were starting to notice girls. As the older sister, no girl will ever be good enough for my little brothers, I will always protect them from girls, just like they will always protect me from boys. But I have come to accept that they have exceptional taste in women and I haven’t met one I do not like yet.

4. Brothers are easy to embarrass and it’s fun.

I love my brothers to death, but sometimes as mentioned above, they can be a pain. It is then my duty as the older sister, to embarrass them especially in front of girls. I have many methods, whether it’s a naked baby picture or just an embarassing photo in general, or a funny anecdote, I never fail to embarrass them just the right amount because I love my little boogers.

5. I can talk sports all day with them ALL DAY.

I realize not all males follow sports, but my brothers do and as a sports fanatic myself, it is always nice to have someone to talk sports with because my girlfriends don’t. If I miss a game or have some obscure question no one would know off the top of their head, my brothers are there to tell me about the game or answer my question. They are like my real life ESPN, and they know how to spell it too unlike my younger step sister who asked us how to spell it one day, true story.

6. They are always ready to do some daredevil stunt.

My brothers and I participated in some crazy, daredevil like activities and still do. When we were younger, we loved to ride ATV’s and motocross bikes, trying stunts we shouldn't have tried or finding some interesting way to ride, they are never afraid to bravely go where we shouldn't. I’ve never been one for following the rules much and neither have they.

7. They keep me on my toes.

Brothers are interesting creatures, there is always something going on in their lives. They always call me and tell me the weirdest stories about what their little squad did that past weekend or they tell me about their love life… my favorite topic. Their stories often remind me of my days in high school, they help keep my memories alive and I love to envision their future because I know they are all going to be successful and happy.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
