Brothers: It's A Love-Hate Relationship
megan wheeler

A brother is someone who you share DNA with. Most of us have a brother or maybe a really close friend that we call a brother. Either way, we all know the feeling of having a brother. If for some reason you don’t after reading this you’ll have a better understanding of why we love and hate our brothers all at the same time. It is hard to understand from the outside looking in but having a brother of any kind is one of the best things that can happen to you.

My older brother use to be the biggest pain in my butt when I was little, but whose brother isn’t? Especially when you are complete opposites. Being his little sister we were in two different worlds he was always two years ahead, so you know he was always “right” or so he thought. But, what older sibling doesn’t?

You fight with them for most of your childhood, over toys, games, the TV, you name it a brother and sister, have fought over it. They fight over the little things like what movie they are going to watch, and they fight over the “big” things like who gets to sit in the front seat. But at the end of the day, they will do anything for each other.

Guys are told from the time they are young that they have to protect their younger sibling especially if it’s a younger sister. But when it comes down to it, that younger sibling will fight as hard as possible to defend their older sibling. Why? Because I can talk about my brother and how much I “hate” him but no one else can! We talk about how annoying each other are but only we can say it, you have no right saying something rude about someone else’s sibling. It is an unspoken rule or law if you will.

As sibling we have two attitudes, the “you’re not my brother, I disown you” attitude, and the “help them hide the body” Also known as the “shit, mom and dad are coming home early we have to clean the house” attitude. Like I said early it’s a love/hate relationship, some days you love each other some days you hate each other. Why? Because that’s what family does for one another!

I think it’s in our DNA when we are born, that no matter what we have to love them. They are our family, and eventually, you two will have each other in the world. Don’t ever burn bridges with your sibling, because one day they might be gone and you don’t want to regret the relationship you had with them.

Whether they are just a close friend or you share part of your DNA with them, they are your brother, and nothing can change that!

My brother is my family and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

Thanks for always being my partner in crime Joshua!

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
