All Hail Brooke Davis

"To be happy takes being comfortable in your own shoes, the rest can go from there."

For nearly every girl who has watched "One Tree Hill," including myself, Brooke Davis is more than just a character. She's an icon, a role model and pretty much the epitome of life goals. In nine seasons, The Girl Behind the Red Door taught me more than any other TV character has. These are just a few of the lessons.

1. You are enough.

Everyone, even the head cheerleader with the hot basketball player boyfriend, has their own set of insecurities and days when they feel like they are just not good, pretty, smart, or talented enough. Brooke Davis definitely did, but even when those days came along for her, she would always go out of her way to make her friends and the people around her feel good about themselves. Focus on building other girls up instead of tearing them down. Not only will you make them feel better, you'll feel better about yourself as well.

2. There is always more to someone than what you see.

The girl who came across, originally, as a ditzy party girl ended up being a kickass friend with an amazing business and fashion sense. Brooke Davis proved a ton of people wrong and did her thing despite the people who tried to stop her. Through her, I learned to always keep moving forward and to not let the opinions of others stop you from going after and achieving what you want. The only person who can truly hold you back from getting what you want is yourself

3. "Hoes Over Bros."

Perhaps one of her most famous phrases, Brooke Davis is the ultimate best friend. Who else would skip out on prom to save her best friend (whom she was fighting with at the time) from a psycho stalker with moves she learned at cheer camp? There is not a thing Brooke wouldn't do for her friends, and her generous, gentle nature is what makes people want to be around her.

4. You deserve the best.

B.Davis taught me you are worth more than the boyfriends who cheat on you, the people who use you for success and the guys who come and go because your successes intimidate them. As hard as it may be, you have to remember there is a reason why everything works out the way it does, and you are meant to be happy. Eventually, all of the pieces of your life will fall into place and all of the hard times you had to go through will be worth it.

5. Move on & let things go.

Brooke learned to forgive the people who hurt her, and still loved them despite the mistakes and bad decisions that they made. She was not one to hold a grudge or drag out a fight. To still care for someone after they hurt you is incredibly difficult, but Brooke made it look easy. No matter how difficult it may be to forgive and forget, it's worth it when it comes to saving friendships with people you truly care about.

6. Never be afraid to be yourself.

Brooke was a cheerleader, student body president, founded a program to stop her classmates from drunk driving and had a world-famous clothing line. She had no limits and did whatever she wanted without worrying about what people thought. Once her mind was set on something, nothing was going to stop her. There is nothing you can't do if you believe in yourself and stay true to who you are, and I am so thankful to have learned this from her.

7. We all feel a little lost sometimes.

Even people who seem like they have everything going for them could be unsure of what they're doing and what they want. It can be hard when you feel like everyone has their lives figured out and you don't, but you've just gotta have faith you'll eventually figure it out. Brooke Davis was not afraid of making mistakes and through that, she was able to grow into the person she wanted to be.

If Tree Hill was a castle, Brooke was the queen. Without her, the show, and a lot of people's lives, would be very different.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
